Gerundino Fernandez, Cypress/Spruce 1973, Wooden Pegs
Information about guitar builder Click here.
This instrument is from his best epoch. The soundboard has nail scratches around the tap protection, and there is a hairline crack (shrinkage crack) on the soundboard directly below the fretboard. Almost all old guitars have such shrinkage cracks. They are harmless, because this spot is well secured from below. The instrument does not have any other cracks. It is one of the few instruments with spruce soundboard, because Gerundino built very many guitars with cedar soundboard. This is one of the really original guitars from the hand of the famous guitar builder from Almeria. The sound is loud and mystical, loud and awesome with a slightly dirty touch. Easy to play thanks to the flat neck profile. Outstanding instrument with a great deal of value to collectors.
