Vasilis Lazarides, Cypress/Spruce, 2010

This guitar is a special, unique instrument. Absolute perfect condition. Back and sides are made of beautiful light cypress, and the soundboard is made of mature German spruce. Beautiful mother of pearl inlays in the rosette make this instrument an especially beautiful object. A clear, strong bass and beautiful, clear trebles make the instrument into an especially interesting object for guitarists, who are looking for a unique sound. The sound is difficult to describe. I often played it, because the sound fascinated me; however, it is different than a Marín and different than a Reyes too. The precise, clear treble is impressive, and an arpeggio in the treble produces an absolutely clear sound. It is the surprise of the year 2011 for me. I am also especially happy, because I have a very close and warm-hearted relationship with Vasilis Lazarides. I spent a few days at his house in Athens last year and got to know him better.
I got this guitar from him as an exception, because the last one was sold very quickly. He had it for a while in his workshop and actually did not want to sell it, because he liked it very much. I was lucky to be able to convince him to sell to me in the end.
