Juan Antonio Correa Marín, Cypress/Spruce 2011
Juan Antonio Correa Marín is the grandson of Antonio Marin Montero. He started learning the craft from Antonio when he was 18. He has worked there for five years in the meantime and has now started to build his first own master guitars. He showed me his first very good cypress guitar in August 2011, and I liked it from the start. The name says it all; you can be certain that you only get outstanding instruments from this workshop. He is on the right path, as this instrument clearly demonstrates. Very good finish. The bass sounds are smooth and powerful, and the trebles are soft with a singing, dry touch. The price is sensational. I can only offer this price, because I have an agreement with him to purchase a large quantity of guitars every year.
