Sascha Nowak
Sascha Nowak is one of the best guitar builders in Germany. He won 1st prize in the German Music Instrument Awards last year.
The special award presented by the German Ministry for Economy and Technology honors especially high quality products from German music instrument making. It has been awarded every year since 1991 in two alternating product groups within the context of the Frankfurt Music Trade Fair. The renowned competition was for the instruments bass clarinet and concert guitar in 2008.
I have known Sascha Nowak for almost 20 years and have witnessed his development as guitar builder and neighbor over the past 10 years. He is one of the most perfectionist guitar builders I know. He has also received a lot of inspiration from a few old flamenco guitars that I owned. His current flamenco model, which he builds exclusively for me, is a copy of a design of a Santos Hernandez from the 30s. These instruments are correspondingly lightweight and easy to play.
They have overtones as hardly any other instrument, and they are a feast for the eyes too. Sascha sells his instruments worldwide. He sold a majority of his production especially to Japan for many years.
His instruments are something very special for aficionados of beautiful sounds.
