Miguel Rodriguez (1888-1975)
He was a student of Rafael Casana and an apprentice of José Ramirez I. Miguel Rodriguez had his workshop in Cordoba. He had two sons, who built guitars with him. Miguel died in 1975. The Rodriguez dynasty has unfortunately died out since, and there is currently no one from his family who currently builds guitars.
Miguel became very popular through the classical guitarist Pepe Romero, who played his guitars his whole life. His family owns the largest collection of Rodriguez guitars in the world.
Miguel Rodriguez always dedicated himself intensively to building flamenco guitars and achieved fantastic results. Till today, there is almost no big-name guitarist who does not have a Rodriguez guitar in his collection. Manolo Franco performed on stage playing a Rodriguez guitar for many years, and the famous Rafael Riqueni played a Rodriguez guitar his whole life.
I consider him one of the five best flamenco guitar builders of the last century.
