Manuel Reyes is certainly the most sought-after guitar builders of the last 30 years. There was a waiting period of more than 20 years for his guitars at the end of his life. He passed away several yearss ago. He became famous thanks to Vicente Amigo, who has played his guitars on stage for 30 years. His best times were in the 70s, 80s and beginning of the 90s. The sides and back received some years ago a new Nitro lacquer. The Top was repolished with french polish without removing the old french polish. A crack on the top below the fingerboard was repaired and good locked from the inside. Another crack on the back was repaired as well. Both are nearly invisible from the outside. You see on the top that this guitar was played a lot, But the repolish left a straight and perfect top.
The sound is amazing. It blows you away, without playing hard. Very fast reaction. Deep and smooth basses and very nice trebles. Good balance. Something very special. The cedar top gives the guitar a lot of power.
