Graciliano Perez has been a close friend of Vicente Amigo for a long time and is actually a dentist by profession, but has been building guitars on the side for approx. 20 years. Vicente often visits his workshop to advise him about playability and sound. The sound is fantastic in the meantime: very flamenco, archaic, sharp, a bit dirty and sassy. His rosewood guitars with cedar soundboard especially have that special something. There is a video on YouTube, on which Vicente Amigo tries out one of his guitars and says something about it. I visited Vicente at his home in August 2012, and he told me about his special relationship with Graciliano. His dream was to have continual exchanges with a guitar builder to have the perfect guitar built one day. He would have liked to do that with Lester DeVoe, but that was difficult because Lester lives in California, and Vicente needs someone who works near where he lives. Although Graciliano is not yet at the level of Lester DeVoe, he is on the right path. There is one or another blemish in the finish, but the sound is rather good. You can already get an explosive guitar of his for a good price now. This guitar sounds very natural. Very powerful sound with deep basses and crispy trebles.
